Ms. Lovell has held multiple leadership roles within the asset management discipline. She currently heads the asset management function at Longroad Energy, an innovative developer, owner, operator, and service provider for solar and wind energy assets founded in 2016 by a team of seasoned renewable energy executives.
Prior to Longroad, she served as Managing Director, Asset Management for SunEdison. In this role she oversaw over 2 GW of installed solar and wind facilities in the US and Canada, managing a team that included asset managers, as well as energy scheduling and revenue optimization, REC contracting, and purchasing for the operating turbine fleet.
Prior to being acquired by SunEdison, she served as the Director, Commercial Asset Management for First Wind Energy. During her tenure the fleet grew 5x, and she played a key role in managing projects with the ground-breaking technical and commercial features for which First Wind was best known, including the world’s first commercial use of a utility scale battery storage system tied to a wind farm, and multiple projects with innovative merchant, PPA, and hedge structures.

Scott Rackey is head of the PV + Storage (“PVS”) Development team for First Solar. Reporting directly to the CTO, Mr. Rackey’s group is tasked with developing this new line of business for the company. These responsibilities include characterizing the unique value proposition offered by PVS, communicating these benefits to both partners and prospective customers, optimizing the designs of prospective PVS projects, and overseeing the technical development of a PVS product line.
Mr. Rackey has led the development of new energy businesses for most of his career. His previous roles included VP of Business Development for GMZ Energy and OsComp Systems. Prior to that, he was the CEO of four venture-backed energy startups. As part of these efforts he raised over $20M in venture capital, negotiated several strategic partnerships and licensing agreements, built multiple technology teams, and directly contributed to the development of a number unique technologies.

Jimmy Bergeron has directed the O&M department at SolarCity for the last year and a half. Jimmy has worked at SolarCity for eight years, first installing over 150 residential systems before moving onto Commercial Construction and Project Management. Before transferring to the O&M department, Jimmy successfully lead the team which deployed solar on over 160 Walmart stores across the country. Jimmy is NABCEP certified as well as a California licensed Industrial and Commercial electrician. He is a fluent Spanish speaker having worked in the economic development branch of Peace Corps Honduras for 2.5 years prior to starting his solar career.

Andrew Griffiths leads the Recurrent Energy Asset & Operations Management team, with responsibility for operations, performance, financial & contract administration, risk management, and compliance of Recurrent Energy’s portfolio of solar projects.

Andrew has overseen growth of the operating portfolio from 1MW (2010) to ~1.3GW (2016) and has helped transition 2GW of solar projects into commercial operations, by developing the process, platforms, and capabilities necessary to support operations, portfolio management, and financing diligence. He has helped negotiate & close operations & maintenance contracts for >50 solar projects in U.S and Canada, and has developed financial models to drive forecasts, reduce operating costs, and maximize cash flows.
Prior to joining Recurrent Energy, Andrew had a senior business management role at Applied Materials’ Solar Energy Division, where he was responsible for growing and managing the thin film solar equipment business in North America, including managing solar equipment contracts from inception through commercial operation. Sam has nearly 10 years of experience at Google, where he helps lead the development and implementation of the company's renewable energy strategy to support its global data center fleet. In December 2016 Google announced it would reach 100% renewable energy in 2017, with 2,600 MW of renewable energy under contract globally, making Google the largest corporate renewable energy purchaser in the world. Sam led the negotiation of a number of these contracts, valued at nearly one billion dollars in aggregate, including Google's first solar energy deal in Chile.
Before joining Google, Sam earned a BA in Physics from Williams College and an MS in Energy and Resources from UC Berkeley, where his research focused on wind energy and plug-in vehicles, respectively.

Prior to joining the EPA, Chris worked with California electric utilities such as Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas and Electric, and San Diego Gas and Electric on the development, implementation, and evaluation of demand response and demand side management programs.

Samuel’s career in the renewable energy sector has touched a range of technical and commercial aspects of the project lifecycle. Samuel worked in various engineering capacities early in his career, later leading DNV GL’s Utility Scale Solar Independent Engineering Team. SLAM is focused on asset intensive clients across the Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities, Oil & Gas, and Travel & Transportation industries. SLAM solutions seek to leverage information across an asset’s lifecycle through information management, advanced analytics, and optimization.
Prior to that, Mr. Gerber was the Power Generation Leader for the Energy & Utilities industry at IBM. In this position he was responsible for devising, developing and executing the solution portfolio strategy and capabilities for all of IBM’s power generation business. This includes capabilities for fossil, nuclear, and renewable generation areas.
Mr. Gerber has over 30 years of industry experience providing advanced solutions to the utility industry. He has been deeply involved in electric utility solution development and implementation, as well as having served in executive management positions. Prior to working at IBM Mr. Gerber was the CEO of a power plant simulation company, which was successfully sold to a major control system company, where the business continues to operate to this day. Before coming to SolarCity in August 2014, Jonas was the co-founder and Chief Operations Officer for a SunPower dealer in the San Francisco Bay Area for four years. Before founding Omnidian, Mark amassed over 15 years of experience in solar and clean tech. He was most recently VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Clean Power Research where as a vendor to the solar industry he had seen many of the challenges in residential solar and the lack of choices available to lessors, lenders and consumers for asset management. Previous to Clean Power Research, Mark co-founded SunPower’s residential and light commercial business unit and built a multi-hundred million dollar world-wide business which became one of SunPower’s largest business units. Prior to SunPower, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer at the largest solar distributor in the U.S.

Dr. Cormode has a PhD in Physics from the University of Arizona with an emphasis in photovoltaics and a Masters of Science in Physics from the University of Arizona. Marc is well known throughout the western United States for his expertise in control system architectural design, deployment and operations. During his post at Hawaiian Electric Industries in 2012, Marc was instrumental in developing reliability standards throughout the islands, and he integrated the first wind farm on Maui in 2005.

Hugh Kuhn has more than 30 years of business and engineering experience. He is a seasoned solar executive who has worked on projects involving over 100 distinct solar arrays – ranging from 250kW rooftop systems to 250MW ground-mount projects. He has managed teams responsible for the ongoing operations of portfolios of hundreds of C&I projects, as well as worked closely with clients owning multiple utility-scale arrays. He has seen firsthand the good, the bad and the ugly of the PV world. In 2009-10 Hugh led a collaborative effort to establish the “Thresher Test”, a series of de facto PV module chamber tests to help investors gain comfort in the long-term reliability and durability of modules. This catalyzing effort has evolved within NREL (PV Quality Assurance Task Force, PVQAT) and related work within the IEC.
Mr. Kuhn currently works independently consulting with developers, investors and owners of solar assets. Hugh is currently working closely with Macquarie Infrastructure Company, providing owner’s oversight of project construction and long-term operations as well as technical due diligence assistance during project acquisition efforts. Hugh is on the Board of Directors of MaxGen Energy Services, a company consisting of an independent solar O&M services business (MaxGen O&M) and independent data platform software provider (PowerFactors Inc.)

Sean Gallagher is Vice President of State Affairs for the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) where he oversees SEIA’s legislative, regulatory, and policy development work in states nationwide, including efforts to drive new markets for solar power through implementation of the US EPA’s Clean Power Plan. Before joining SEIA late in 2014, he served as an executive for firms developing utility scale solar power projects, including the first utility scale solar plant developed on an Indian reservation in the U.S. Sean was the director of the California Public Utilities Commission’s Energy Division for nearly four years, where he led the Commission’s work establishing the California Solar Initiative (CSI), implementing California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard, planning transmission for renewables, and managing interactions with the California ISO. Previously he was an attorney for the CPUC and in private practice in San Francisco. He has a wide range of expertise in the solar industry and government sector, having worked with legislatures and agencies in California, Nevada, and Arizona, as well as with the Congress and federal agencies including the Departments of Energy, Interior, and FERC. In those roles he has supported utility-scale solar project development and worked on development and implementation of the Section 1603 Treasury Grant Program, the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee program, state RPSs, state tax incentive and rebate programs in California and Nevada, energy storage policy and rate design.

Matthew Muller received his Masters of Science in mechanical engineering in 2006 from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He has worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory within the PV/CPV Reliability, Performance, and Evaluation group since 2008. Matthew’s current work focuses on leading a research effort to better understand PV soiling losses (meaning power loss due to soil accumulating on the PV surface). This effort includes: methods to measure soiling losses in the field, algorithms to extract soiling specific losses from PV performance data, developing PV soiling loss or soiling derate maps, developing durability standards and abrasion standards for anti-reflection and anti-soiling module surface coatings, developing artificial soiling standards, and establishing techno-economic evaluations for cleaning methods or other soiling mitigation strategies.
Matthew also specializes in outdoor performance testing of PV/CPV modules, methods for on-sun CPV and PV cell temperature evaluation, thermal modeling, spectral performance modeling, building integrated PV, performance of solar trackers, and IEC standards development.
Matthew serves as a technical expert within IEC working group 7, where he has lead the effort to publish, IEC 62817, a design qualification standard covering solar trackers and of IEC 62670-3, which covers CPV performance measurements and power rating procedures. He also manages a CPV performance and energy rating test platform at NREL.

Ms. Craig has over 30 years’ experience as a regulator, consultant, and corporate leader. For the past 10 years, she's been part of Origin Climate where she's currently Managing Director and leads Origin's consulting practice. Origin helps its clients bring renewable energy into their supply mix, and to develop and implement longterm climate strategies and implementation plans.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Craig spent 10 years at Sun Microsystems where she collaborated with engineering teams on energy efficiency, on minimizing hazardous substances, and on computer end-of-life management. In the early 1990s, Ms. Craig worked for Apple Computer and was responsible for the company’s efforts to rid suppliers of ozone-depleting substances.

Mr. Young is currently the exclusive US Agent for Taiwan-based soiling measurement device manufacturer UKC Electronics (H.K.) Co., Ltd. marketing its Dust Detection System series of devices to measure PV panel soiling from utility scale projects to commercial rooftop DG systems. Uniquely the UKC devices include an algorithm developed by Mr. Young to predict the optimal timing of the next panel wash at a solar installation based on three variables: 1) the cost of a wash; 2) the value of the lost energy due to soiling; and 3) the rate of soiling. UKC devices can also be installed with options to be completely “off the grid” avoiding the use of municipal utilities.
Prior to joining UKC during 2016, Mr. Young was a Vice President for Solarrus Corporation (now known as MaxGen Energy Services) for 7 years. Among his duties, Mr. Young established a full service Asset Management operation to complement its well established solar O&M services. This activity included sourcing third party providers for some specialized services and coordinating these activities with in-house services, and creating performance metrics for the solar assets and service providers. Among these asset management services was panel washing and as a result Mr. Young published a White Paper in 2014 on the optimal timing of solar panel washing.
Prior to joining Solarrus Mr. Young had a wide ranging career in the Commercial Real Estate finance industry including formulating business and marketing plans to launch and operate multiple real estate asset-based businesses. Mr. Young has helped launch and manage lending and investing divisions of commercial banks, investment banks and boutique real estate syndicators.
Mr. Young holds an MBA from the Booth Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago. He also holds a BBA with Honors in Finance from the University of Wisconsin.

Most recently, he was Senior Vice President Global Sales and Marketing for Advanced Energy Industries, a leading US-based publicly traded power conversion technology company where he led sales, marketing, and service teams in solar PV inverters, semiconductor process power, and industrial power conversion. Under Marshall's leadership, Advanced Energy held leading market share in the North American utility scale market.

Daniel Chaves is the Director of Information Technology for Recurrent Energy, a leading utility-scale solar project developer. Over his 7 year tenure, Danny has led a top-tier IT service delivery team with responsibilities for Information Technology security strategy, software solutions implementation, risk management, compliance policy adoption, and infrastructure management. In support of solar asset security he oversaw the implementation of a NERC CIP Compliance program and Owner’s Security Policy to meet the complex cyber security requirements for 1.2 GW of solar facilities currently in operation. In 2016, Danny spearheaded a cyber penetration initiative to validate solar asset security, ultimately revealing and remediating interconnectivity risks between corporate entities and energy production environments.

Clyde Loutan is presently a Principal Engineer at the California Independent System Operator Corporation (ISO) focusing on power system operation performance, and was the Principal Investigator for several technical studies including the ISO’s renewable resource integration reports published in 2007 and 2010. He develop the ISO’s original “Duck Curve” to demonstrate how the increasing amount variable resources will change how the balancing of the grid is managed. He was also instrumental in working with NERC to identify ramping capability or flexibility as an essential reliability service needed to integrate higher levels of renewable resources. Mr. Loutan has been instrumental in developing several operating policies and was the lead engineer in charge of investigating the root cause of the California blackouts in 2000/2001. He served on the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Frequency Responsive Reserve and the NERC Reliability Based Control Standards workgroups and currently serve on the Essential Reliability Services Working Group.
Mr. Loutan previously worked at the Pacific Gas and Electric Company for 14 years in various capacities such as Real Time System Operations, Transmission Planning and High Voltage Protection.
Mr. Loutan is a licensed professional engineer in the State of California. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Howard University in Washington D.C., and is a senior member of the IEEE.
